Built in 2012 by the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, this building complex immediatly became one of the most famous symbols of Baku, and one of its cultural centers - playing a fundamental role in the redevelopment of Baku.
Its fluid architecture, which naturally emerges from the natural topography in the shape of Heydar Aliyev signature, perfectly encompasses all functions of the center. Inside, it wraps around its various spaces, giving each one privacy and a defined identity. It hosts an Auditorium, a Cafe, and multiple exposition spaces. In one of those you can always find "Mini Azerbaijan", a summary in building miniatures of the country's history. The other spaces are occupied by temporary exhibits, except for a gallery dedicated to the biography of H. Aliyev, but dont- worry: being arguably the most prestigious space in the city, you'll never be disappointed by what's inside.
Nevertheless, the incredible and international art pieces are not the thing that amazed me the most about the inside: I could have spent hours by only staring at the architecture, if the building wasn't about to close. Here are some examples
