Eat, Pray, Love

Eat

Beyond its typical dishes, the Azerbaijani food is a thing to share and through our trip we could have experienced it. For example, many Azerbaijani families brought their carpets at the beach and once the sun is going down, they drink tea and eat watermelon, bread and cheese. Actually, it is an indescribable feeling when they offer you to seat with them and share this moment. The food and the tea taste better but also your heart is warmer.

Pray

The Land of Fire is a laic country where most people are Muslims. So, you can find in Baku many mosque and most of them worth the visit. Many of us had never visited mosques before but were impressed by the beauty of them. Whether Bibi-Heybet Mosque with its green ceiling and people giving you little presents because they have been exauced by God or Heydar Mosque which is the biggest Mosque in Baku. Walking barefoot and alone in Heydar Mosque is really impressive. It is like being somewhere out of time. Everything inside is elaborated and breathtaking. You can only feel so small and amazed facing so much beauty.

Love

Life is a question of love but so does travel. Loving meeting new people, discovering new places, experiencing new cultures. In Azerbaijan, you can find people who love their country and who want to show you all what it has to offer. Azerbaijani people are kind and welcoming. They want you to make the most of their country and to fall in love with it like they are. They also like foreigners and are always eager to learn more about other cultures and customs.

In front of Heydar Aliyev center, there is an exhibition of Rezaphotography. This pictures shows a boy with the Azerbaijani flag painted on his cheek.

Eventually, living between wind and fire could prove to be invigorating. Follow your heart and enjoy the experience. So, my key for happiness? Eat, pray, love and travel!
