Central Park

Writer: Marco FilippinMarco Filippin

Baku is a modern, ever-evolving capital. One the last additions to the city center, near Nizami Station, is Central Park, also called Mərkəzi Park in Azeri. It's a long stretch of grass scattered with young trees, with paths that lead to benches under the shadow, picnic tables, and even a free open air gym! Perfect for runners and those of you who want to work off the doners and plov.

If you prefer to relax, the top of the park offers a wonderful view of the city, which you can enjoy drinking at the Park cafe. And when you finish your chai (the local name for tea), you can enjoy the smell of lavander and herbs while walking toward Teze Pir Mosque. It's not always open, but it creates a perfect scenario to take beautiful photos among the flowers and fountains.
